Circling Venus

Circling Venus composed of founder and front man Chris Jackson, drummer Chris Carroll (aka Zag), bassist James Sexton, and guitarist Wesley Rutland. A powerhouse of talent and experience from all corners of the music genres. Taking influences anywhere from Butch Walker, Motley Crue, Dave Matthews, to Godsmack, Rush, or AIC any taste in music can be satisfied. All hail from the tri state area and are very familiar with the changing industries needs and wants. As tourists rush in and out CV tries to maintain a familiar and friendly face among the fleeting and the locals of the areas frequented.

As a whole Circling Venus has made leaps and bounds with only a years worth under it's collective belt. But, individually all members made the choices to begin a music based career at an early age. Founder Chris Jackson and bassist James Sexton frequently toured and occasionally opened for large acts such as Edwin McCain in their late teens. Drummer Zag began his debut with Top 40 cover bands in high school playing for what few events and venues that would allow young musicians to explore their talents such as VFW's and various benefit based events. Wes Rutland, the youngest member has a strong influence from hard crunch squealing 80's style guitars that will keep any crowd rocking through the night. Having also worked with acts ranging from Nazareth to Shinedown Wes also has a working knowledge of a good stage sound and well produced show...

Each member brings to the table of course a differing persona and also a style learned through the numerous musical encounters each has undertaken. All command the the natural taste for making any song 'their own' stemming from years of exposure to the creative juices that only playing different styles can bring. From 70's peace & love, 80's metal ballads, 90's emotionally charged alternative, to current progressive melodic rock, CV has felt the blood, sweat and tears that ingrain the only method to being a good band,.... experience.

Circling Venus commands a show that is high energy, spontaneous, and witty. Dotted by a light show that most club owners would be jealous of CV also understands the importance of production. Along with the instruments and voices of Circling Venus come a plethora of moving colors and smokey stacked back lines.
