dj playlist20/20 has a nice ring to it. It's the numerical code for perfect vision, and the title of a news program celebrating success since 1978. As the year 2020 approaches, here's hoping this pair of twenties delivers something equally outstanding. But before we step into a brand-new decade, let's celebrate all the memories we made in 2019! What better way to end the year than by singing and dancing along to your favorite hits. Here are 20 songs that should top your end-of-the-year playlist for 2019.

1. Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus- "Old Town Road"

The first rendition Lil Nas released was plagued by critics claiming it wasn't "country enough" for the country charts. But then country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus, two-stepped in for a new remix which helped lasso 6 Grammy nominations and a record-breaking 19 weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Its culturally-inclusive composition, which also samples Nine-Inch Nails, is a dynamic crowd pleaser.

2. Billie Eilish- "Bad Guy"

It would take a knock-out punch to topple "Old Town Road," and that's just what Eilish delivered. Her groundbreaking sound not only captivated Coachella, it supplanted the top hit of the year.

3. Lizzo- "Truth Hurts"

Although it was released in 2017, "Truth Hurts" jumped into the spotlight in 2019 when it became one of the most memed songs on TikTok. Expect an all-girl sing-along when you blast this power anthem.

4. Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello- "Senorita"

This song depicts a romantic encounter in Miami. Mendes and Cabello steamed up the stage themselves when the real-life couple performed the song at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the American Music Awards in 2019.

5. Juice WRLD - "Lean Wit Me"

A young rapper who was just gaining traction when he lost his life in 2019, Juice WRLD left an indelible mark on the year. His songs dealt with drug addiction and death, including this catchy track that details an overdose and promotes the National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Hotline.

6. Sam Smith and Normani- "Dancing with a Stranger"

Smith's falsetto and Normani's husky voice combined for one of the smoothest harmonies of the year. And what better time to dance with a cute stranger than on New Year's Eve?

7. Ariana Grande- "Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored"

Boredom might be this generation's anthem, with the amount of apps and social media platforms that prompt us to keep looking for what's next. This flirty tune has a catchy hook that resonates in 2019.

8. Jonas Brothers- "Sucker"

The "Jo Bros" set many hearts aflutter this year when they rekindled the flames they started in their early boyband years. This tune is a falsetto-laced, up-tempo ballad aimed at their sweethearts. Awww, now there's even more to love.

9. Ed Sheeran- "Shape of You"

This song may not be a 2019 release, but Sheeran was just named UK's top artist of the decade, and this song was the most downloaded song of the decade, as well. If that's not enough reason to play this bop while you toast to the next decade, then play it for the uplifting beat and lyrics.

10. Post Malone- "Circles"

"Posty," as he's called by his fans, has already dominated rap, pop, and rock, but he's making moves in the adult contemporary and dance genres as well. If his attire at the American Music Awards was any clue, he might tackle country next. With a voice that resonates across all genres, Post Malone is a must-play artist for 2019.

11. Daddy Yankee featuring Snow- "Con Calma"

When great minds collide over great tracks, an earworm is usually born. The hitmaker of previous dance hits, "Despacito," and "Gasolina," Daddy Yankee paired up with Canadian rapper, Snow, to remake Snow's hit, "Informer," with a decidedly Spanish flair.

12. Chris Brown- "No Guidance"

News headlines might make this title an apt description of Chris Brown, himself. But, "No Guidance" has a hook that caught on and made it one of the most requested songs at parties this year.

13. Panic at the Disco- "High Hopes"

This song just makes you want to jump around, which is exactly the vibe you want when you salute the end of a year. High hopes are something we should all carry into 2020.

14. Swae Lee and Post Malone- "Sunflower"

Carrying over from 2018, "Sunflower" went to No. 1 on the Hot 100 list in January of 2019. The song off the Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack promises a safety net for a lover who is scared of the unknown. Let's toast to finding that in 2020!

15. Blake Shelton- "God's Country"

It's safe to say Blake Shelton's having a moment in the spotlight- from his success on The Voice, to his adorable union with Gwen Stefani, to this uplifting anthem that takes pride in our sometimes beleaguered nation. Here's to a year of celebrating the best things about our country.

16. Travis Scott featuring Drake- "Sicko Mode"

The dance floor lit up when "Sicko Mode" blasted in clubs and parties everywhere in 2019. The artists compiled a whirlwind of a song that featured three abrupt beat change-ups from slow, to smooth, to funky. The combo of organ, bass, and drums enhanced the catchy rhymes.

17. Dua Lipa- "Don't Start Now"

Female artists had a long overdue moment to voice their relationship frustrations in 2019. Dua Lipa flipped the script from her "New Rules" hit about noncommittal men to a hit that addressed a male admirer that wouldn't let her be. Her carefree ability to walk away from an ex who's only interested now that she's disinterested resonated with women everywhere.

18. Taylor Swift- "New Year's Day"

Released in 2017, this poignant song is the perfect slow-dance for your toast to the end of the year. Swift portrays the beauty of a relationship that goes deeper than the celebration on New Year's Eve, and carries into cleaning up the party together on New Year's Day.

19. Lizzo- "Juice"

This song just begs you to dance, from the frenetic rhymes, to the quotable lyrics, to the heady instrumentation featuring a mix of synth, trumpets, drums, and calypso. Seen as her defining anthem, this unapologetically self-confident song and its video infused with throw-back pop culture dominated YouTube in 2019.

20. Ariana Grande- "Thank You, Next"

While it's not a new release, perhaps no other song is a more perfect send-off than Ariana's grateful farewell. Highlighting the perks of each relationship, she boldly moves on to the next. That's a mindset we can all adopt as we bid 2019, with all its frills and flaws, goodbye and move on to an exciting new decade.
